Ecumenical Senior Center

I assisted a Kalamazoo senior center with organizing and volunteering my time to help raise funds towards a new building. The Ecumenical Senior Center reached out to me as the president of MODA for help with this event.

About the Event

When I was approached to potentially help with this event I knew that MODA members would have a wonderful opportunity to do something new and creative. I knew that I wanted to give back to the community and by helping the center raise funds for their new building I was able to do so.

Final Outcome

A few weeks after the event, the director of the center emailed me to thank me for helping out and for my assistance with organizing the event. He also informed me about how much we raised that night. I am very grateful that I was able to help out the Kalamazoo community and raise funds for the new ESC building.

I am immensely grateful to have been apart of such good for the the Kalamazoo community. I worked incredibly hard to help out together a wonderful event for the center and the seniors involved. MODA designers along with several board members were able to assist in creating pieces for the seniors as well as doing a small model workshop to show the seniors how to model their special pieces. I worked through the summer and my packed semester schedule to help them raise more than $20,000.
